Another milestone

This morning my wife jubilantly called to tell me Annemarie reached a major milestone - she took her first bowel movement in the potty! Any first time parent will rejoice in ridicioulus measures, and we're no exception.

"YES!!! she can poop on her own!! SHE DID IT IN THE POTTY!!!" is the internal dialogue i have been scripting since the phone call.

however, im slightly embarrassed to admit how, at 17 months, she could learn so quickly. Lets back-track to last night. My wife decided to make stir-fry, something she rarely fixes. I only got a few bites before deciding it wasn't my particular kind of food, and opted for a frozen pizza. I know, not the greatest (or healthiest) item to eat for dinner, but i did. Forty minutes later i found myself sitting on the toilet seat, delivering the big one. For some reason the plumbing in my digestive system went off the deep end. Each and every time i visit the bathroom, annemarie likes to observe as best as she can, and this usually means standing one foot away from you and chatting away in annie-speak. I haven't had the rough stuff in a long time, but it was probably a first for Annie to witness and remember. She was completely absorbed in the drama unfolding in front of her that she tilted her head sideways several times in amusement. Perhaps this explains why she was willing enough on her own today to try it herself. regardless, i'm a proud pappa!

Proud parent! Don't forget to teach her whoever smelt it, dealt it, so she doesn't blame it on the dog (whenever you get a dog).
